role playing sample ,Maria stood silent in the front yard of her best friends house. It was raining and she was soaked, sure to catch her death but she didn't care at the time. She'd just told her best friend in the whole world that somewhere in the middle of their good times and bad, that she'd fallen in love with him. Conner, her best friend in question, just kinda stood there watching her.
"What?" He asked when he finally did speak, a whole 30 minutes after Maria had told him how she felt.
"I'm in love with you, Conner." Maria just stood there, looking at the ground more then at Conner.
Conner sighed and nodded, "Marie, you know I care a lot about you but I don't love you, not in that way at least. I'm sorry Maria." He stepped towards her, to hug her.
Maria put her hands up, stepping back a couple steps, "No, don't. It's okay. I understand." She was crying now but she kept her voice as calmly as she could, not letting on that she was. She wasn't the kind of person to show emotion, she thought it was a sign of weakness. She nodded and turned, walking down the pathway to his house and then down the street.
By the time she'd arrived home she was completely soaked from head to toe and she'd cried the whole way home. Thankfully her parents weren't home. She got rid of her wet clothes in the laundry room and then went to take a shower. She kept thinking about what Conner had said and where she went wrong over the years. She didn't understand why he didn't feel the same way. All the signs were there and yet he'd turned her away.
After her shower she sat down in the floor in front of the tub. She had her towel wrapped around her and she was brushing her hair out. She thought back to before she met Conner. She hated her life and before then thought she had nothing else to live for. Her life was a jumble of messes and mistakes that she couldn't change, nor take back. Conner had made her feel wanted, loved, cared about. He was the only person she'd ever trusted. The only person who proved worthy of her trust.
Later, after getting dressed she sat at her desk drying her hair. She hadn't gotten a phone call or a text from Conner telling her to come back, that it was all a mistake and that he was in love with her. No matter how bad she wanted it, wanted him, it never happened. After finishing her hair she walked downstairs to see if her parents had left her anything to eat, they hadn't which was no surprise to her.
After a few minutes of trying to decide what she wanted she sat down to watch TV while her lasagna cooked in the oven. While she was sitting there, someone rang her doorbell. She sighed, stood up, waled to the door and opened it. She gasped when she saw who was standing there in her doorway, drenched from the rain.
"Conner? What are you doing here?" She looked up at him, eagerly.
Conner didn't say a word, he just stepped inside, wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her. Maria was in heaven as she kissed him back. "I love you Maria.." Conner finally said as he pulled away from the kiss. "I've always loved you."
A few minutes later, Marie woke up. She sighed and laid back onto her bed, thinking it was all just a dream. Seconds later her bathroom door opened and Conner came strolling into the room. "Good morning beautiful." He smiled as he made his way over to her bed, leaning over her and kissing her. Maria kissed him back, smiling into the kiss. "Good morning to you too babe."
